Acceptable Use Policy

1. Illegal Activities
You may not use the Service to:
- Commit or facilitate any crime under applicable law
- Engage in fraud, money laundering, or sanctions evasion
- Finance, plan, or execute terrorism or violent extremism
- Violate the privacy rights of others (unauthorised collection, distribution)
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Export data or services in violation of export control laws
Consequence: Immediate termination and cooperation with law enforcement.
2. Abusive Conduct
- Harassment, intimidation, threats, or abuse of other users or Lightarch staff
- Doxxing (publishing private information of others without consent)
- Sending unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
- Impersonating another person or organisation
Consequence: Warning, 7–30 day suspension, or termination depending on severity.
3. Security Violations
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, or network
- Distributing malware, ransomware, or malicious code via the Service
- Conducting phishing, credential stuffing, or social engineering attacks
- Launching denial-of-service attacks against any target
- Reverse engineering the Service or attempting to discover proprietary source code
- Circumventing security controls, rate limits, or authentication mechanisms
Consequence: Immediate termination and potential criminal referral.
4. Data Misuse
- Processing personal data without a lawful basis under applicable data protection law
- Submitting another person's personal data without their consent
- Using the Service to build profiles on individuals without their knowledge
- Storing or processing data that violates any data protection law in the applicable jurisdiction
5. Infrastructure Abuse
- Exceeding your plan's ingestion or storage quotas without upgrading
- Using the Service as infrastructure for a competing observability platform
- Systematically scraping or bulk-exporting data beyond your own telemetry
- Circumventing the free tier limits through multiple accounts
6. Content Restrictions
You may not submit telemetry data that contains:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any illegal content
- Material that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
- Defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful content
7. Enforcement
Lightarch reserves the right to:
- Investigate suspected violations at any time
- Remove or disable access to content that violates this AUP
- Suspend or terminate accounts with or without notice for material violations
- Cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities
- Report violations to appropriate authorities
8. Reporting Violations
If you observe a violation of this AUP, please report it to [email protected]. We investigate all reports and respond within 5 business days.
9. Appeals
If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting [email protected] within 30 days. Include your account email, the reason for appeal, and any relevant context. We will review and respond within 10 business days.
